With the AI-supported assistance system Z-CAM, ZÖLLER-KIPPER presents a new rear area monitoring solution for waste collection vehicles. Rethinking Safety: AI Analyses and Protects
With the introduction of the Z-CAM, ZÖLLER-KIPPER sets new standards in rear area monitoring. The AI-supported assistance system analyses the surroundings around the lifter in real time, detects potential hazards early, and reacts automatically. The safety of the waste collection staff is clearly the top priority.

Technology That Thinks Ahead
Unlike conventional camera or sensor systems, the Z-CAM not only detects whether something is in the danger zone – it also analyses who or what is moving there. The AI reliably distinguishes between people and containers, assesses risks in real time, and immediately makes the appropriate decision.

If the AI detects a hazardous situation, it intervenes instantly: If a waste collector is detected in the danger zone, the emptying process will not begin at all. If someone enters the area during the emptying process, the movement is slowed down or stopped. This helps to actively prevent accidents.

Efficient and Compatible
Z-CAM automatically detects whether a two-wheel or four-wheel container is being used and independently switches operating modes – without any manual input. This saves time and ensures smooth workflows. In addition, the system can be easily integrated into existing lifter systems, such as via CAN interfaces.
